What is Titan?
The Titan procedure? is a safe, non-surgical process
that uses an infrared light source to tighten skin and
reverse the signs of aging. The Titan heats the dermis
to cause collagen contraction while protecting the skin
through continuous cooling. Titan can stimulate long-term
collagen rebuilding that leaves patients with tighter,
younger looking skin. The treatments can take under
an hour and be performed during a lunch break.
What areas can be treated?
The Titan Procedure treats lax and redundant skin throughout
the body including the abdomen, thighs and arms and
is also used to tone, lift and tighten skin on the face
and neck. The best candidates are people in their 40's
and 50's who are beginning to notice a reduction in
their skin's elasticity.
What does the treatment do?
The Titan Procedure utilizes a blended, infrared light
source to reverse the signs of aging. Titan creates
significant heating in the dermis, essentially tricking
the body into repairing the skin. The overall skin structure
contracts due to the applied heat and subsequent collagen
denaturing which continues over time.
How does it work?
The infrared light source delivers uniform, even heating
to the dermal layer of the skin down to 2.5mm. After
pre-cooling prepares the area, continuous cooling is
used to protect the skin during treatment. The heat
profile denatures collagen fibers and provides immediate
collagen contraction. As heat spreads from the treatment
area, post-cooling protects the epidermis.
Do Titan treatments hurt?
The laser pulse is often described as a wave of heat
that gradually increases during the five to seven second
pulse of the Titan handpiece. The Titan is equipped
with a skin-cooling system which allows the continuous
direct cooling of the epidermis during treatment to
minimize discomfort. Our customers tolerate Titan well
without the use of anesthetics unlike Thermage treatments
which are extremely painful.
Is it safe?
Absolutely. The Titan procedure utilizes a blend of
invisible wavelengths of light that are designed to
heat the dermal layer of the skin while protecting the
epidermis. After treatment, it is common to see either
no reaction or some mild skin irritation or redness
that resolves very quickly.
When will I see results?
Some people will see some results immediately. Most
people will begin to see tightening in the treated area
about three weeks following treatment. And improvement
can continue, even up to six months after a treatment.
